Notes From the Fargo Film Festival

Tuesday night at 7 PM the 9th Fargo Film Festival began to an almost
completely compact house. This year, there are four ice sculpted penguins in
front of the theatre. The weather has been cold enough to preserve these
sculptures, done by students from NDSU's Department of Architecture and the
public is requested to respect the integrity of the art.

Third Thursdays: Live Outdoor Concerts Downtown

Date: June 19th, July 17th, August 21st

The Fargo American Legion located at 505 3rd Avenue North in Downtown Fargo will host their Annual Third Thursdays!

There will be free live concerts outdoors starting from 6:00 until 10:00pm.
Families are welcome! Free Admission!
Don't forget to bring a lawn chair.

The American Legion will have brats, burgers and beverages available.

June 19- the band Past Due will perform (Cruisin' Broadway" Night!)

July 17- the band Carmen and the Cactus is scheduled to play

August 21- the band The Shakers will delight the audience

This is sure to set the summer mood with great live music OUTDOORS!

Our Local Food Banks are low on food. Please help aid our community in a time of need by donating non-perishable food items to the Dorothy Day Food Pantry. Bring your items and/or donations to the US Bank Plaza during Cruisin' Broadway hours (5:00 until 9:00pm). There will be a main table for you to drop the items off.

HJEMKOMST (Yem-komst) Norwegian for Homecoming

The Heritage Hjemkomst Interpretive Center provides interpretation of the Hjemkomst Viking Ship, Hopperstad Stave Church Replica, Red River Valley Exhibition and hosts traveling exhibits in 7,000 sq. feet of temporary exhibition space.

DOWNTOWN FARMERS' MARKET 2008

The Downtown Farmers' Market will be back on the US Bank Plaza at 2nd and Broadway beginning Saturday, June 21. Fresh produce, hand-made crafts, plants n' flowers, jams n' jellies ... you name it!

Starting around 9 am, though several marketers will be there earlier.

This market began with the passion and vison of local produce and flower producers seeking an outlet for their abundant harvest. You will find produce, including some organic, jams & jellies, handcrafted towels and doiles that make unique gifts, flowers, honey, salsa, bbq sauces and fresh baked breads.

Vendors can vary each week so make it a habit to stop and browse on Saturdays!
